Are reservations required?

Reservations are a good idea year around, especially for parties of six or more, and especially between December 20 and June 20. We can only confirm reservations up to six months in advance. Please email us to make a reservation.


What types of payment does the Blue Water Grill accept?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, U.S. Travelers Checks, and U.S. and Belize cash.

How do we arrange transportation to and from the Blue Water Grill from our hotel or resort?

Our restaurant is within 5 minutes walking distance from all hotels and resorts in San Pedro. If you are staying on the north side of the island your hotel or resort can arrange a water taxi. If you are staying on the south side of the island a regular taxi can be arranged to take you to our restaurant.


Is there a dress code?

Absolutely not! For dinner you will find people wearing everything from "dressy" beach wear and
flip flops to T-shirts, shorts, and no shoes. Please dress in whatever way makes you feel most comfortable.


How are the tables set for dinner?

The tables at the restaurant are set with white tablecloths and vibrant table runners. Each place setting has a water glass, silverware, bread plates, and colorful cloth napkins. In addition, we place oil and vinegar bottles for bread dipping, salt and pepper shakers, candles, and fresh flowers (when available) on each table. If you have a large group or special event and have selected one of our banquet menus, we will create a personalized menu and print it on good card stock for each of your guests.

How is the restaurant laid out?

There are two main dining areas that are side by side. One area is a larger lower deck, and the second
is a smaller deck in front of the bar that is a few steps above the main dining area. Pictures of the layout

Does the BWG require a deposit to confirm a standard reservation?

Not typically. It is only during Christmas and New Year’s that we require a $100 BZE deposit for all reservations.
This amount will be credited to your dinner bill on the night of your reservation.


How many people can you seat?

We can seat up to 80 in the restaurant and up to 150 on the beach with tents and rental tables and chairs.

Can I buy a gift certificate?

Yes. Contact us for our credit card authorization form. We can mail the gift certificate to you or we can
deliver it to a hotel here on the island if it is a gift for someone who is arriving on Ambergris Caye.

I have a group of 20 or more…what can the Blue Water Grill do?

For groups of 20 or more we ask that you select one of our set banquet menus. The dinners are seated.

Does the BWG require a deposit to confirm a Special Event reservation?

Yes. For groups of 20 or more we require a $1000 BZE deposit to confirm the reservation.
This deposit amount will be credited to your dinner bill on the night of your event.


How do the banquet menus work? Do I have to pre-order for my guests?

No, you do not have to pre-order. You just have to decide which menu to go with. We will print out
individual menus for each place setting and your guests can choose one of two appetizers and one
of three entrees. The dessert will be the same for everyone.


Can I buy out the restaurant to host a private party?

Yes, the Blue Water Grill is available to be bought out. The buy out fee is based on the time of year
and the number of people in your group. Please email us for more information.


Can I hire a band?

If you have rented out the Blue Water Grill for the night, then you can hire a band or a DJ. The SunBreeze
Hotel asks that the music end at 10:30 PM out of consideration for their hotel guests.


Does the Blue Water Grill provide cakes?

The Blue Water Grill does not provide wedding cakes or other large cakes but we can recommend
local bakers. We regularly work with Eri Vasquez. For more information please contact Eri.

Do you do catering?

The Blue Water Grill does not do catering but we have people we can recommend. Wine de Vine can provide large party platters with fine cheeses, meats, olives, and fresh bread. They also prepare wonderful gift baskets and can host private wine tastings and wine lessons. For more information please contact Flor at Wine de Vine.
